The view of Pedernal has been painted many times, so my aim was to try and capture something of the light in the early morning when the Mountain seemed less dominant in the landscape. This painting is acrylic plein air which worked well in the cooler morning atmosphere of New Mexico. Completed while on residency at Ghost Ranch.
